A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING
It’s okay to ask.
Do I need a service plan to receive support?
Yes. New Technology Support provides services exclusively to subscribers of our residential or business service plans. For one-off support, contact our parent company, Computer Doctor.
How do existing subscribers request help?
Submit a request through our customer portal. Tickets can be submitted at any time and are addressed first come, first served, typically within 24–48 hours. See your plan for the applicable support arrangements.
Do I need to understand technology to get help?
No. Tell us what you’re trying to do and what’s getting in the way. We’ll use plain language and take things at a comfortable pace.
Can you help with more than computers?
Yes. We provide technology support for all things electronic, within our expertise and knowledge of the product. Call about your phone, tablet, printer, TV, or another device and we’ll discuss how we can help.
Can you help without me bringing in my computer?
For suitable computer issues, we can offer remote help using our customized support software. We’ll explain the process and ask for your permission before connecting. Some problems need a different approach.
Do you offer year-round IT support?
Yes. We provide year-round IT support for residential seniors and small business clients, including businesses run from home. Call 1-334-478-0778 to discuss your business needs, support arrangements, coverage, and costs.
Can you support a business I run from home?
Yes. Whether you work from a home office or run a small business, we can help with the computers, connections, software, and everyday electronics you depend on.
Can you help if I think my phone or computer was hacked?
Yes. We can talk through what you noticed, help assess signs of a security problem, and explain appropriate next steps. When suitable, we can connect to your computer with your permission to check for and remove malware. Phone support helps guide you through device and account security steps.
What if I think my bank account has been compromised?
We can provide consultation to help you contact your bank through its official phone number or app, review the steps needed to protect the account, and address related computer security concerns. Your bank confirms transactions and handles account restrictions and disputes. We do not need your banking password or one-time security codes.
Can you help me speak with a company?
Yes. With your authorization, we can join a three-way call, help explain your concern, and guide you through the conversation. You remain involved, and the company may require you to verify your identity.
What if I need an on-site visit or hardware repair?
On-site service and actual hardware repairs are handled by our parent company, Computer Doctor. Contact us to discuss your device. Plan-covered hardware repair requests are eligible after 30 days from activation and require registration of covered devices. Repairs needed before then can be arranged as separately billed service through Computer Doctor. See the residential or business plan terms; parts are billed separately, plus applicable sales tax.
What will the service cost?
View our Residential Plans for current pricing and coverage, or call to discuss your needs. Review the plan terms before signing up.
Can I call on behalf of a parent or loved one?
Yes. Let us know what they need help with, and we can discuss the next step. Any remote connection requires the device owner’s permission.
